A Wee Bedtime Story

Once upon a time in the town of Gullible. There lived many hard working people. Of course in this town there were some poor people, they were too old to work or did not get around very well. There also was a band of people that begged for their supper. In fact they begged for everything.
The hard working people just kept on going to work no matter how hard the work was, They tilled the land and raised food for everyone, some of them ran stores so people could buy food and clothes and many other things needed in their daily lives.
When they got home they took care of their children and the feeble old people, made sure they were fed and warm. All the while the band of  beggars sat around trying to figure out how to get what the hard working people had.
Then one day a man came to town, He was a stranger but everyone welcomed him to the town. Everyone was interested in him and  when he started to talk, he made everyone feel good, all except a few of the hard working people, they stood back and listened. They knew all of the things that the stranger talked was impossible. After all if everyone gave him all of the money that the people in town had, and he shared it with everyone so there would be no beggars and no one would have to take care of the old people. And then everyone would be happy.
All of the hard workers went back to their jobs farming and businesses and then one day the stranger gathered all the people together and said We have to share more money, so the hard  workers had to give up their hard earned money so the stranger could give it to the others. Some of the hard workers said,  the  heck on working , I will just stay home and I will still get money anyway, and So they did.
Now there were only a few hard workers putting longer hours, taking a second job to make more money to feed their families. And still the stranger came and said, I need to take more money.  Now there are more people to take care of.
So the day came when the last of the hard workers said enough.  And they went home and did not go to work. Then the stranger said, you have to work we need the money and the hard workers said that is too bad, now we want our share of the money and the stranger said there is no more.all of the people  needed food and there was none, they needed clothes and there was no one to make them, They looked at  each other and said now what do we do they asked the stranger but the stranger did not answer as he packed his bags and went on down the road to find another town so he could help more old people and beggars.
