I am old,
Or so I'm told,

Thats not fair,
This I swear,

Pains and aches
For goodness sakes.

Life going by.
I say with a sigh,

Its time to play
Is what I say

Wrinkles and gray
I feel young anyway.

Momma Knows Best

"If wishes were horses then beggars would ride", A saying of my mom's when ever I would say "I wish". Then she would say "you get what you work for." Another saying of hers was" You only appreciate what you work for."
Born in 1897, she was one wise woman, her sayings are still meaningful today. Too many people have a selfish "I" attitude and think they are entitled to things without earning them.  It is time for people to wake up and smell coffee. Yes if you lost your job, can not find another one, have a family to feed. then you do need help and hopefully you get it. If you are really disabled and can not work the money should be there for you. Can't afford insurance? There should be insurance available on a sliding scale that you can afford.
Too many young people  were raised to believe they deserve a free ride. There is no free ride that will get anyone  to a place where they are happy and have self respect. They will always want more and where will it end.Sooner or later the money will all be gone and so will our country.
We are a strong people of many ethnic backgrounds, it was the brave, people that came here and built this country, To think we should become what they left behind is something I do not want to see. It is time to stand and be proud of what we are, strong independent Americans that do not need a nanny state government to do handouts and take us back to the dark ages.

I think most Americans are like me, feel free to comment

Blog EntryApr 22, '12 11:26 AM
for everyone
I read a blog that makes me think that there are some people thinking that Americans hate Muslims. I think they are wrong. In general there are haters of everything.  It isn't so much that they are against a certain people, but they are full of hate and have to express it somewhere. If it wasn't the group of their choice it would be a different group. Some are just plain crazy egomaniacs and wily enough to convince others to join them, for instance Hitler..
I have personally met one Muslim, He was an exchange farmer from the Russia that wanted their people to learn capitalism back in the early 90s. He was friendly, kind and loved American beer. He thought county fairs were great. I interviewed him for our local newspaper. To say the least he and his family background was very interesting. His mother a nurse and his father a policeman. he himself was fruit and vegetable farmer. When the interview was ended he gave me a delightful gift of a Russian pen that was beautifully hand painted.
Yes I agree there are some radical Muslims, just as there are radical groups of every kind. that is what bothers me the most. The hate groups, for they are the ones that will make sure there is never peace.I do believe most Americans are like me, we take each person as an individual not by their race or religion, or non religion. The hate filled ones should be left to themselves for they will never win in the end, they just create turmoil.

I'm on my way.
Oh what a day.
what can I say.

My keys are lost.
Where were they tossed
To replace them will cost,

Where can they be.
looked everywhere don't see.
I planned for a shopping spree,

Now I wait, already late
I am at home, I want to flee
Sure not my day to be free.

Oh wait, let me check,
My goodness, what the heck
In my purse, I am a wreck.

As I look out the window watching the morning sky,
Thinking about the last words you wrote and wonder why.
Where did we go wrong that each word is a stabbing pain,
Loving you was what kept me strong, it kept me sane,

The sun will come out, though the clouds of pink and gray,
Wiping tears of loss away, the pain in my heart is there to stay,
Our past a broken dream, a puzzle with pieces scattered apart
The letter looks innocent, but like a knife it stabs my heart.

Stop trying to split us, lets stand as united women

I am so sick of the political  garbage about the war on women. It is just crazy! There is no war on women in the United States. There is however a war on women in many countries where these women are murdered for no reason, have to wear outlandish garments. Get  their genitals mutilated for no reason. Have no rights except what they are allowed by a man, are treated as less than human chattels NOW THAT IS WAR ON WOMEN!!!
To say whether a political agenda can create meaningless  rhetoric about silly comments  by people getting paid to create dissension is just plain nuts. We are equal in this country, there is no one trying to take away our great liberties and to say so is an insult to all of us. We are for the most part  smart knowledgeable  people, maybe a tad more smart than the men trying to create this mess. To the women that are going along with this garbage , I say shame on you, there is no political agenda that is more important than the sisterhood of women.this sisterhood has many different  ways to live as a contributing part of society and do it successfully. To say one is less than the other is a shameful happening.
This election is about more than trivial conniving  dumb ideas to separate an important section of  America and that is women. I ask how many working moms wish they could stay home and raise their children instead of day care doing it. How many stay at home moms wish they could go out to work and have a bit of  money but chose to raise their children.
it is the economy , it is about not wanting China  owning us, it is about our pride in being Americans, The history of the men AND women forming this country and giving us  the knowledge that we can do anything without the government telling us how to do it. Isn't that what the revolution was about in the first place?

Waiting in anticipation
For the morning sun to rise
To take away the night shadows
Knowing the new day is a gift
For all of us to enjoy in our own way.

The nearness of you
The fragrance that was yours
The smile on your face
The tenderness of your touch
The aphrodisiac of you

When pain is raw
Healing seems impossible
Instead of crying
Simply hold on to faith
Praying for strength
Erases some of the pain
Realizing life  goes on

As the seed lies dormant in the winter's cold,
So does the sun's warmth bring forth
Mother nature's gift of beauty for us to behold.

Spring

The miracle of spring brings
all the lovely shades of green
with raindrops like diamonds,
a wonderful background
for the brightness of color
that each flower will bring.
